North Shore Shellfish is located in Setauket, Long Island. The co-founder, Brad Wochinger, has over 25 years experience in the field.  Brad is a 2nd generation baymen and developed a deep passion for the seafood industry from a young age.  During his journey, he joined a team and began working on a clam transplant program on Raritan Bay, located in Staten Island. This program was monitored by NYS DEC and was one of the largest transplant programs worldwide. Working on the water enabled him to fund his own college education, which ultimately led him to obtain a Master’s Degree from Stony Brook University. His interest eventually led him to begin harvesting soft shell clams on the North Shore of Long Island and distributing to local wholesalers and restaurants. 

Back in the mid 1990s, Brad began scuba diving for wild oysters in the waters of Northern Long Island. North Shore Shellfish takes pride in selling one of the most superior oysters on the planet, The Diver Select OysterTM. After developing the company, Brad is very hands-on and still finds himself 25’ underwater harvesting this very special oyster, something he enjoys doing very much. North Shore Shellfish also supplies over 20,000 lbs of soft shell clams weekly to worldwide distributors.  Brad spends his free time on the water as much as he can.  He enjoys crabbing, clamming, oystering and offshore fishing with his family.
